  141. Hello Sir,
My name is Allen. I studied PCMB till 12th. However I’m looking forward to do a career related with the financial sector. My primary aim is to pursue a career in Economics. My parents believe I should have another plan as a backup if I fail to meet up with the cut off percentage required to join the college. I don’t have any interest in pursuing Medicine ( as its too common) or Engineering (as I’m hopeless at Physics). Now I don’t know what else to aim for other than Economics and I seek your assistance on that aspect.

    Reply
    • Allen, other than Engineering and Medicine, numerous interesting courses do exist. Some notable ones are- B.Sc. programs, Animation and Multimedia (BA, B.Sc., B.Des. etc), Bachelor of Design courses, Architecture, Travel and Tourism management courses, Management education, Law (Integrated law course) etc. Other than economics, any other favorite subject?

That course can be pursued after any undergraduate course to improve your confidence and communication skills. I’ve heard about short term courses. They are job oriented. Some students are asking – What should I do after 12th commerce without mathematics?

Don’t worry about math. Because, there are lots of courses and career paths for you after 12th without Mathematics too.
    😉
You can apply for various posts in Railways, Banks and so on or you can go for regular studies.
           Here is a list-
    BBA
    JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION
    BCA
    BMM
    BMA
    HOTEL MANAGEMENT
    LAW
    ANIMATION
    BCOM (HONORS)
    FASHION DESIGNING
    BCOM (MANAGEMENT)
    BCOM (FINANCE)
    BCOM (MARKETING)
    EVENT MANAGEMENT
    BCOM (RURAL MARKETING)
    BCOM (EXPORT-IMPORT)
    BCOM (ECONOMICS)
    BCOM (MSSI)

So, keep studying as per your choice. But, before selecting a path ask yourself again and again if you are satisfy with your selection.

    Best of luck.

    • Shrutika, for pursuing law education right after 12th, you will have to take help of integrated law courses. Yes, you may go for BBA + LL.B. integrated course and pursue both courses in 5 year course period. At the end, you will have dual degree- law and BBA (management). There exists other integrated courses like- B.Com. + LL.B., BA + LL.B., B.Sc. + LL.B. etc.

Another option is to go for any graduation course (3 or 4 years long). After completing it, you may take up PG course of LL.B.

    • Aiman, for management, BBA is a good course. BMS is also decent management course. BBA course covers various topics, you may specialize in Advertising/Event Management etc. Talking about Cooking, Hotel and Hospitality management is a good course. Though it won’t just focus on cooking. It will cover other Hotel Management topics also.
