IPM stands for Integrated Programme in Management. As the name suggests, it is an integrated management education program. IIM-Indore is the institute that introduced this program in India.   The program’s structure resembles BBA + MBA Integrated course. IPM (Integrated Programme in Management): Basic Details

Recognizing the need for an integrated management education program, IIM-Indore introduced this course in the year 2011. Since then, this program has got favorable response from students as well as management gurus!   This course caters to the needs of young students who have just passed 10+2. Regular IIM programs are aimed at the needs of Graduates. This course stands apart, catering to the needs of 12th passed students!   The course structure is very similar to an Integrated BBA MBA program. The academic program can be divided into two stages –

  • Foundation (first 3 years) curriculum
  • PGP [Postgraduate Programme] curriculum (last 2 years)

The foundation stage consists of the following set of subjects –

  • Mathematics, Statistics and Economics
  • Psychology, Sociology and Political Science along with courses in Economics
  • Humanities, Literature and Fine Arts

After completing 3 years of foundation stage, IPM students train as managers along with the students of the Institute’s 2-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), undertaking the same course package in management studies in years 4 and 5. Admission Process

Selection process starts with form-filling. Interested candidates have to fill up a form aimed at understanding the students’ proficiency in academics, as well as in co-curricular activities.   It is followed by an entrance test. The test is used to gauge the candidate’s aptitude, logical reasoning and proficiency in English and Mathematics.   Short-listed candidates are called for personal interview. PI is used to gauge candidates’ confidence, communication skills, general awareness, persuasion skills and knowledge.

Fees

For Indians, fees for the first three years of the IPM would be Rs. 4,00,000 INR per annum and Rs. 6,00,000 INR for Non Resident Indian (NRI) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).   Course fee for the fourth and fifth years would be as per prevailing Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) fees. The course fee includes lodging, access to lectures, computer facilities and library.

Management professionals are hired by wide variety of industries, MNCs, offices and organizations. Salary

Starting salary of a management professional depends upon a number of factors. Some of the prominent factors are –

  • Level of education (UG, PG etc)
  • His/her specialization
  • The domain he/she has chosen
  • Job location

On an average, starting salary could be anywhere between 50-80K INR per month. In case of a Government job, the salary will be as per the pay scale and grade.
