This academic program is also known by other names such as – B.Sc. + B.Ed. course and B.Sc. B.Ed. Integrated course. Since this is an integrated course, 12th pass students are eligible to pursue it! Since this program involves B.Sc. course too, only 12th Science stream students are eligible to pursue this course! If you want to study B.Sc. B.Ed. (PCM) variant, you must have passed 10+2 with PCM subjects. Similarly, if you want to study B.Sc. B.Ed. (CBZ) variant, you must have passed 10+2 with PCB subjects. B.Sc. B.Ed. Integrated Course: Introduction & Scope
In simple terms, it is a teacher training program. Candidates who manage to pass this course are eligible to teach at Secondary and Senior Secondary levels in Indian schooling system. In order to get a job, they must crack relevant aptitude tests though! B.Sc. B.Ed. course has been crafted keeping the needs of 12th Science stream pass students in mind. Essentially, it is a teachers training program. But, B.Ed., in its standalone form can be pursued only after completing Graduation! Looking from a 12th Science passed student’s point of view, it is a major disadvantage. What if he/she wants to pursue a single teacher training course right after 12th? What if he/she wouldn’t like the prospect of applying separately for a teacher training course after graduation? B.Sc. B.Ed. Integrated course has been made to address these problems exactly! Since this is an Integrated course, it can be pursued by students who have just passed 12th class! The course consists of B.Sc. program as well as B.Ed. program. Both these courses are combined to form an Integrated course. So, students won’t need to apply separately for B.Ed.! B.Sc. B.Ed. Integrated course is 4 years long. Each academic year is divided into two semesters. Thus, the entire program consists of eight such semesters. A student has to face main external examination at the end of each year.
