1 BA + B.Ed. Integrated Course

B.Ed. stands for Bachelor of Education. It is a Degree that makes one eligible to take up teaching as a profession. It is a postgraduate course. But, the Government has decided to introduce integrated programs. This has been done due to the acute shortage of teachers that we have been facing for some time. BA B.Ed. integrated course has been created as a part of this step by the Government. The course is a combination of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education Degrees (Dual Degree). Based on personal preference, one may select a good subject and go for this integrated course!

 

Duration: The course duration is 4 years. The program is divided into 4 academic years.

 

Eligibility: 10+2 passed in any stream, with English subject. 50% minimum aggregate marks is also required (minimum marks required may vary from one institute to another). D.Ed. qualification holders may get admission directly in the second academic year of this program.

 

After completing the above mentioned program, one may go for further studies or appear for the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test). Cracking the CTET will help one become a teacher in Schools under the Central Government (example- Kendriya Vidyalayas). One may even appear for State wise TET and work as a teacher in State Government run schools.

 

2 B.Sc. + B.Ed. Integrated Course

Earlier, students had to go through B.Ed. program separately, after completing B.Sc. course. But thanks to the introduction of B.Sc. + B.Ed. integrated course, things have become much more simple! This program is a combination of B.Sc. and B.Ed. Degrees. Based on personal preference, one may choose an appropriate subject and pursue this integrated course!

 

Duration: The course duration is 4 years.

 

Eligibility: 10+2 Science stream passed (subjects required depends on the nature of the program), with minimum 50% aggregate marks. D.Ed. qualification holders may get admission directly into the second academic year of the integrated program.

 

After completing the above mentioned program, one may go for further studies or appear for the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test). Cracking the CTET will help one become a teacher in Schools under the Central Government (example- Kendriya Vidyalayas). One may even appear for State wise TET and work as a teacher in State Government run schools.

 

3 B.El.Ed.

B.El.Ed. stands for Bachelor of Elementary Education. It is an elementary teachers training program. This course has been designed to train students and make then capable to taking up the role of primary school teacher. This program is a combination of theory and practicum courses.

 

Duration: Course duration is 4 years. Theory part consists of 3 years. 1 year is dedicated towards practicum course.

 

Eligibility: 10+2 passed in any stream, with minimum 50% aggregate marks in specified subjects (subjects may vary from one institute to another). Minimum aggregate marks criteria may vary from one institute to another.

 

After completing the above mentioned program, one may go for further studies or appear for the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test). Cracking the CTET will help one become a teacher in Schools under the Central Government (example- Kendriya Vidyalayas). One may even appear for State wise TET and work as a teacher in State Government run schools.

 

4 D.El.Ed.

D.El.Ed. stands for Diploma in Elementary Education. It is an elementary teachers training Diploma certificate program. It is a good alternative to B.El.Ed. course. The course trains students and makes them capable of taking up the role of elementary school teacher.

 

Duration: Course is 2 years long.

 

Eligibility: 10+2 passed in any stream, with minimum 50% aggregate marks. Minimum marks criteria may vary from one institute to another.

 

After completing the above mentioned program, one may go for further studies or appear for the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test). Cracking the CTET will help one become a teacher in Schools under the Central Government (example- Kendriya Vidyalayas). 5 B.P.Ed.

B.P.Ed. stands for Bachelor of Physical Education. It is also known as BPE course. It is an undergraduate Degree program that focuses on Physical Education.

Eligibility: 10+2 passed in any stream, with minimum 50% aggregate marks. Minimum marks criteria may vary from one institute to another.

 

After completing the course, one may start working as a Physical education teacher or instructor.

 

6 DPE

DPE stands for Diploma in Physical Education. It is an undergraduate Diploma certificate program that focuses on Physical Education.

 

Duration: Course duration is 2 years.

After completing the course, one may go for further studies or start working as a Physical education teacher or instructor.

 

7 B.Ed.

B.Ed. stands for Bachelor of Education. It is a PG course. Graduates are eligible to pursue this course after completing their undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree program. Earlier, the duration of B.Ed. course was 1 year. But this program has since been subjected to revision and a new 2 years long version of this program has been introduced. This Degree is required to become a teacher at secondary and higher secondary level. B.Ed. course can also be pursued after completing postgraduate course.

 

Duration: Course duration is 2 years (revised).

 

Eligibility: Minimum qualification required is- BA, B.Sc. or B.Com. Degree. Minimum aggregate mark required is 50% marks. Minimum marks criteria may vary from one institute to another. One must also pass B.Ed. entrance examination to secure admission!

9 Special education courses

Special education program trains one to educate and guide students suffering from visual impairment, hearing impairment or mental retardation. 10 Assistant Professor after Master’s

After completing Master’s education, one may appear for tests like NET/SET/SLET and become Assistant Professor.
