After I started helping students out, I’ve been getting lots of queries about Professional courses. Recently I got a query regarding MCA (Master of Computer Application) course from a student. He wanted to know whether there is any way to pursue MCA right after 12th Science. I decided to publish this question and answer it on Apnahangout.
The answer is NO! First of all, MCA is a PG course. To pursue this course, one must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a Recognized University. It is not possible to pursue a Master’s Level course right after 12th, without having a Bachelor’s Degree Certificate!
To pursue MCA, make sure that you take up BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application) course after 12th Science (Mathematics Group) and complete it successfully. To get a BCA seat, a student must also take part in State Level Entrance Examination! After completing BCA, you may take part in the PG course admission process and pursue MCA course! Another good option is to go for BCA+MCA Integrated course. Not many Indian Institutes are offering this Integrated course at the moment. Still, there are select few Institutes where one may pursue this course!
Don’t think that it is possible to pursue MCA only after BCA! There are some other relevant Degree courses available too, after completing which you may go for MCA. A good example is- B.E./B.Tech. Computer Science Engineering. After completing this particular course, one is eligible to pursue MCA course!

Though it won’t be the best of choices, what I want to say is that there are possibilities like this too, when it comes to studying MCA! If one is unable to get admission in M.E./M.Tech. Computer Science Engineering program, he/she is very much eligible to try MCA course!
