You will find details such as – dates of registration, admit card release date, examination dates, answer key release date, result declaration, score card downloading dates and counseling dates.
Before heading to the meat of the matter – GATE 2018 dates – let us check out some basic details about this entrance exam. Here they are –
GATE 2018: Basic details
GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Candidates who clear GATE become eligible to pursue Postgraduate programs (like M.E., M.Tech., PhD etc) from IITs, IISc and other reputed institutes. Also check – GATE exam. Apart from that, candidates who clear GATE may also avail attractive Government scholarships/assistantship in fields like engineering, technology, science and architecture. Reputed PSUs (Public Sector Undertaking) like ONGC, HPCL, SAIL, BHEL, HAL, IOCL, Power Grid, NTPC etc are known to use GATE score to recruit Engineering trainees. GATE score remains valid for a period of 3 years from the date of announcement of the results. GATE 2018 is conducted by IIT Guwahati. There will be a total of 23 subjects (papers). Candidates must register for only one of these 23 subjects. The examination will be conducted online. GATE 2018 follows the CBT (Computer Based Test) format. The exam is also conducted in the following cities abroad – Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal) and Singapore.
