B.Ed. + M.Ed. Integrated course: Details

It is a Dual Degree course. After completing this integrated program, successful candidates will obtain two Degrees- Bachelor of Education and Master of Education. In short, pursuing this course will help one acquire both Bachelor’s as well as Master’s level Education Degrees!

 

 

B.Ed. is the minimum qualification required in India to teach at Secondary and Higher Secondary levels. Pursuing this course will help one in becoming a teacher eligible to teach students hailing from those levels.

 

Duration: B.Ed. M.Ed. Integrated course is 3 years long. The academic program is divided into 6 semesters.

 

Technically, B.Ed. and M.Ed. courses are 2 years long, each. Both programs have been revised and their new duration is 2 years (each course). To complete them both, a student will have to sacrifice 4 years.

 

B.Ed. M.Ed. Integrated course is 1 year shorter than the above mentioned path.

 

Eligibility criteria: PG Degree in Science/Social Science/Humanities/Other relevant disciplines from a recognized University/Institute (criteria in case of University of Mumbai). Minimum aggregate marks/grade required is 55% or equivalent grade.

 

Admission process: Merit based admission process, depending upon the marks scored in relevant entrance test and qualifying examination.

 

Higher studies: After completing B.Ed. M.Ed. combined course, graduates may go for further advanced courses like M.Phil. or PhD (relevant programs).

 

Career prospects: After completing the course, one may appear for tests like CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) or State-wise TETs. Scoring valid marks in these tests will help one land Government teacher’s job!

    • You may apply. However, make college level enquiry and know whether you satisfy all conditions or not. Yes, you may apply for Govt jobs after completing this course.

    • Yes, it will be valid. But to get Government job, you’ll have to clear relevant State Teacher Eligibility Test.
