Here, I’ve listed down some of the best AI courses available in front of 12th pass students. If you’re looking for ‘career path’ or ‘ career guidance’, you’re in luck. I’ve laid out/described a decent career path too, which will help 12th pass candidates make a career in AI domain.

First of all, let us take a closer look at the domain known as AI. What is AI all about? How AI works? What are its applications?

Artificial Intelligence: Basic Details

Artificial Intelligence is well known as AI. AI is a part of computer science. It forms an integral part of modern-day CS!

In simple terms, AI is intelligence demonstrated by machines/computer systems. As we all know, human beings and animals possess natural intelligence. In our day to day lives, we demonstrate our natural intelligence in multiple ways and on multiple occasions. Let us take an example – our decision making process demonstrates natural intelligence. Similarly, a dog chasing away an intruder shows its natural intelligence. Intelligence demonstrated by machines (in the above mentioned manner) is known as AI.

Let us take a closer look at the present status of AI education in India. Let us begin –

AI Education in India

When it comes to AI education and training, the Indian education system is still at a nascent stage (from 12th class students’ point of view). This is due to the fact that you won’t be able to find many AI-specific undergraduate courses in India!

Most of the AI courses available in India are aimed at Engineering graduates! In other words, majority of AI programs in India belong to PG (postgraduate) academic level!

M.E., M.Tech., M.Sc., PG Diploma, PG Certification, Advanced Diploma, Advanced Certification – these are some of the popular AI course formats available in India! As I mentioned before, candidates who have completed relevant UG level course are eligible to pursue these PG level programs!

So what about 12th pass students? Don’t they have access to a single AI-specific course after 12th, some of you may ask. I’ve got good news for 12th pass candidates! Few colleges across India have started offering B.Tech. AI program (discussed in detail ahead). Apart from that (AI-specific UG courses), 12th pass candidates may also pursue relevant programs.

Which are those relevant programs, some of you may ask. B.Tech. in Computer Science, B.Tech. in Automation and Robotics, B.Tech. in Electronics Engineering, B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering – these are some of the relevant UG courses.

For example – B.Tech. Computer Science program already deals with topics such as – AI, Machine learning, data analytics, big data etc. After completing B.Tech. in CS, a graduate may pursue PG programs (such as M.Tech., PG Diploma or PG Certification) that deal with AI!

So, 12th pass candidates have two main options (if they want to make a career in AI sector after 12th). Those two options are –

1. Pursue an AI-specific undergraduate course right after 12th (example – B.Tech. in AI)
2. Pursue a relevant UG course (example – B.Tech. in CS) and pursue an AI course after graduation

Since the number of AI-specific UG programs and colleges is very less (at this point of time), most of you will have to settle down for the second option! Come, let us check out each career path. Let us begin –
