MCA Admission in Madhya Pradesh 2022
Admission process may vary from one MCA college to another. Main modes of admission process include – merit based admission, direct admission and donation based admission process.
All of the government colleges, aided colleges and good private colleges follow merit based admission process. Under this mode of admission, seats are allotted among deserving candidates on the basis of their rank in a merit list. This merit list is prepared on the basis of candidates’ performance in relevant entrance test/selection exam and/or their performance in Bachelor’s Degree program.
Direct admission process is followed when an institute has too many vacant seats to fill up. Usually mid-table and low rated colleges are known to employ this tactic. Under this process, seats are distributed among eligible candidates on first come, first served basis.
When it comes to many private MCA colleges, certain number of seats are reserved under the management quota. These seats are allotted to eligible candidates on the basis of monetary transaction conducted between the two parties.
Fees
MCA tuition fees depends upon factors such as – type of college (government or private), scholarship status of the candidate, rating of the college etc. On an average, private MCA colleges could charge anywhere between 40-150K INR per year. Government and aided MCA colleges are known to provide subsidized education to students.
MCA Course Details
MCA stands for Master of Computer Applications. As the name suggests, it is a Master’s Degree course. In other words, this program belongs to PG (postgraduate) academic level.
The course duration is two years. This program has been crafted keeping the needs of computer science graduates in mind. Candidates seeking advanced knowledge in computer science may pursue this course.
Candidates who have passed relevant Bachelor’s Degree course (like BCA, B.Sc. CS, B.Sc. IT etc) are eligible to pursue this course. This program deals with the discipline of – computer applications. It is an advanced computer education course. Candidates who possess basic/degree-level computer application knowledge will benefit from this program.
MCA program has been crafted keeping the needs of candidates who possess basic knowledge about computer applications, programming, IT and other relevant branches of CS. This program will help a candidate acquire advanced knowledge about topics such as – programming, database management, IT systems, computer hardware, OS, data structures, algorithm, software engineering etc.

MCA program is 2 years long.
Eligibility criteria
- Minimum educational qualification required to pursue this course is – completed relevant Bachelor’s Degree course (like BCA or B.Sc. CS) from a recognized college/university.
- Candidate must have scored at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree course. Minimum marks criteria may vary from one college to another.
