This is a warning post for Engineering aspirants from Gujarat. Students, who are all set to pursue Engineering Degree from any of the GTU (Gujarat Technological University) must give this post a read. This post is all about some startling facts about campus placement records that many colleges boast about.
Placement figures most GTU Colleges boast are rigged!
As of now, it seems that GTU authorities are not keeping a form check on the placement records being flaunted by many Colleges affiliated to the University. As a result, many colleges, especially the relatively new ones and the mediocre ones are displaying wrong and exaggerated placement stats and figures in their Colleges’ ads, other circulars, print media etc. 
To be honest, this is ‘cheating’! Yes, by displaying wrong placement figures, they are misleading students and playing with their future. I’m forced to write this article, thanks to a GTU student, who approached me with some materials and facts. According to the print media he showed me, the College in which he took admission guaranteed a specific placement record for his concerned Engineering branch. But so far, what has been promised has yet to be delivered! That’s when he decided to take matters into his own hand and do some digging around. Soon, it became clear that a host of other Colleges are also using the same trick to lure in students!

He decided to take matter to the court and settle it out there. Hope that things unfurl in his favor! But let me give a sound advice to Engineering aspirants from Gujarat. Most probably, the placement figures will happen to be rigged and exaggerated, unless it is a really popular College. It is better to gather facts and figures from passed out students and existing students of those Colleges, than to rely on the College’s circulars and ads in print and Digital media!
