List of Science Stream Groups | Group-Wise Courses After 12th

Are you a 12th standard Science stream student? Or are you planning to take up Science stream after 10th? If yes, this article will be of help to you. Here, I’ve provided details about groups within Science stream. Besides that, I’ve also provided details about group-wise professional courses after 12th!

Science stream is a very popular choice among Indian students. There are sub-groups within this stream. Sub-groups are created on the basis of subjects chosen by a student after he/she completes 10th and enters PUC schooling in Science stream (11th and 12th).   Within science stream, elective subjects may vary from one state/education board to another. I’ve tried to list subjects and groups which are prevalent in most of the Indian states and boards.   Based on my observations, these are the main groups within science stream –

• Mathematics group/PCM group/MPC group
• Biology group/PCB group
• PCMB group

  Mathamatics group is also known as PCM/MPC group. Students in this group usually have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects. Apart from that, there may exist other subjects such as English, PE (Physical Education), Computer Science, IT or other elective subject.   Biology group is also known as PCB group. Students in this group usually have Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects. Apart from that, there may exist other subjects such as English, PE (Physical Education), Computer Science, IT or other elective subject.   PCMB group students usually have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects. Apart from that, there may exist other subjects such as English, PE (Physical Education), Computer Science, IT or other elective subject.
