In short, the test is aimed at gauging the applicant’s domain-specific knowledge and overall aptitude. The paper primarily revolves around domain-specific questions. Domain-specific questions carry 80 marks. General aptitude and awareness questions carry 20 marks.

In case of few job posts, the CBT is followed by a skill test. When it comes to these posts, CBT is followed by the skill test. Candidates who manage to clear CBT are asked to appear for the skill test.

Merit list

When it comes to final selection, ONGC relies on the merit list. How is this merit list made, some of you may ask. The merit list is crafted on the basis of a candidate’s performance in the written test (CBT) and his/her academic performance.
