In short, GATE 2018 will be conducted online. The online examination will be held at GATE exam centers in India as well as some selected centers abroad (under International GATE). GATE 2018 exam centers: Basic details
GATE exam center is the venue where candidates are supposed to take the CBT (online test). Usually, major cities and towns in India host GATE exam centers. In 2018, there will be a total of 199 examination centers in India. For International GATE candidates, there exists GATE centers abroad (in selected cities). Here are those cities – Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal) and Singapore. In India, GATE exam is held across eight Zones. Each Zone is supervised and managed by an administering institute. Your examination city/town falls under a specific Zone (details about Zonal centers are provided in this article). A candidate is supposed to fill his/her examination center choices while filling up the GATE application form online. A candidate is allowed to select three examination centers. Two centers must belong to the same Zone. Third choice could belong to any Zone. You may use the chart provided above to find cities or towns that are near your residence. Once that task is done, you may select the desired centers while filling up the application form online.
How to find your exam center?
While filling up your form, you are allowed to enter 3 exam centers. The final allocation will be done after taking many factors into consideration. You will be able to find the exam centers allotted to you in the admit card.
How to change examination center?
