WBJEE is a state level entrance exam. WBJEE board conducts this exam each year in the state of West Bengal. The main aim of this test is to facilitate admission of eligible candidates into state colleges for programs like – engineering (B.E. or B.Tech.), pharmacy (B.Pharm.) and architecture (B.Arch.).
WBJEE is not an online exam. It is conducted in traditional ‘offline’ mode. The paper consists of objective type questions. Candidates have to highlight their choice in the OMR answer sheet.
In short, this test primarily deals with UG level admission of 12th passed candidates. Thus, 12th passed candidates from WB will benefit from this guide. It has been crafted keeping their needs in mind.

WBJEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria
In order to be considered eligble to appear for WBJEE, a candidate must fulfil certain criteria. They must satisfy certain academic and non-academic requirements.
WBJEE eligibility criteria consists of aspects such as – age limit, nationality, domicile and educational qualifications. Let us check them out one by one –
Age limit
- Minimum age required is – candidate should be at least 17 years of age at the time of entrance exam (as on 31st December, 2023).
- There is no upper age limit set by WBJEE board. For marine engineering course, the upper age limit is 25 years.
Nationality and domicile
- Indian nationals are eligible to apply for this test.
- Candidates from any state are eligible to apply for this test.
- Only candidates who have domicile certificate may secure admission into Govt state colleges and avail benefits of reservation.
- Only candidates who have domicile certificate may avail benefits of Tuition Fee Waiver scheme.
Educational qualification for B.Tech. admission
- Minimum educational qualification required is – completed 12th Science with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/CS/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Application subjects from a recongized board.
- Minimum aggregate marks required (3 subjects mentioned above combined) is 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates).
Educational qualification for B.Pharm. admission
- Minimum educational qualification required is – completed 12th Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/CS/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Application subjects from a recongized board.
- Minimum aggregate marks required (3 subjects mentioned above combined) is 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates).
- Candidates appearing in 12th board final examination are also eligible to apply for this test. However, they must be able to provide proof of passing 12th board and meet other requirements at the time of admission though!

Candidates may apply for WBJEE exam online. It is a simple and straightforward process. WBJEE application process consists of the following main stages –

Step by step registration process
- Visit the official website of WBJEE (wbjeeb.nic.in).
- Search for WBJEE registration link and click on it.
- Fill up the registration form by entering details such as – name of the candidate, personal details, email id and mobile number.
- Choose a strong password and security question. Submit the registration form.
- The system will generate an application number.
- Candidates may use their application number, password and security question to login to the website now.
- Fill up the application form by entering personal, academic and category details.
- Choose preferred exam center.
- Upload scanned images of your latest passport size photograph and signature specimen.
- Pay the application fee online (debit/credit cards, net banking or payment gateways).
- After payment is done, you will be redirected to a confirmation page.
- Download the document and take its printout for further use/reference.

WBJEE syllabus consists of 3 main sections –

Syllabus
- Physics: Units and dimensions, laws of motion, gravitation, oscillations and waves, properties of matter, solids and fluids, kinematics, thermodynamics, current electricity, electromagnetic waves, electromagnetic induction, optics, friction etc.
- Chemistry: Chemical equilibrium, chemical reactions, chemical bonding, hydrogen, alcohols, ethers, phenols, atomic structure, polymers etc.
- Mathematics: Integral calculus, differential calculus, sets, matrices and determinants, vector algebra, trigonometry, geometry, probability, statistics, permutations and combinations etc.

WBJEE 2023 Admit Card
WBJEE admit card contains the following information –

It is mandatory to bring your admit card to the exam center. Without a valid admit card, candidates won’t be allowed inside the exam hall! Candidates may download their admit card online. Follow these steps to obtain it –

- Login using your credentials (application number and password).

WBJEE 2023 Counseling and Admission
Candidates who have qualified WBJEE test will be assigned a rank. Only candidates who possess ‘rank’ are eligible to apply for counseling. WBJEE counseling is an online process. Eligible candidates may register for this process online. Seats will be distributed among deserving candidates on the basis of merit list.
