TNEA is a state level admission process. It is a counseling program. The main aim of TNEA is to facilitate admission of eligible candidates into UG engineering programs in state engineering colleges across TN.
Anna University organizes TNEA each year. They conduct this test once in a year.

TNEA 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Age limit
- A candidate should be at least 18 years of age at the time of counseling.
- Upper age limit is 25 years.
- Upper age limit has been relaxed for reserved category candidates.
Nationality and domicile
- Indian nationals are eligible to take part in counseling process.
- Candidates who belong to Tamil Nadu state are eligible to take part in counseling process.
- Candidates who don’t belong to Tamil Nadu state, but have completed 12th standard in Tamil Nadu are eligible to take part in TNEA counseling process.
- Candidates who belong to Tamil Nadu, but completed 12th standard outside Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply. However, they must provide nativity certificate though.
- Children of All India Service personnel (belonging to Tamil Nadu) cadre are eligible to apply.
Educational qualification
- Minimum educational qualification required is – completed 12th Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects from a recognized board.
- Minimum aggregate marks required is – 50% marks (for general candidates), 45% (for OBC candidates) and 40% (SC/ST candidates).
Educational qualification for marine engineering
- Minimum educational qualification required is – completed 12th Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates must also have had English as one of the subjects in 12th class.
- Minimum aggregate marks required is – 60% (PCM subjects combined) and 50% (in English subject).
- Minimum height required – candidate must be at least 157 cm tall.
- Minimum weight required – candidate should have a minimum weight of 48 kg.
- Candidate must have normal vision.

TNEA 2022 Registration
- Visit the official website of TNEA (Anna University).
- Search for TNEA registration button and click on it.
- Fill up the registration form by entering the following details – name of the candidate, date of birth, email id, gender, mobile number etc.
- Enter a strong password.
- Verify your mobile number by entering OTP.
- Click on ‘register’ button and complete registration process.
After completing registration process, you will be redirected to the login page. Sign in with your credentials and access your application form.
TNEA 2022 Application Form
- After completing registration, a candidate will be redirected to login page.
- Sign in with your credentials and access the application form.
- Fill up the application form by entering personal details – name of the candidate, date of birth, gender, name of guardian, nationality, nativity, religion, Aadhar number (optional) etc.
- Enter address information – address of residence, district, state, pin-code etc.
- Click on ‘save and proceed’ button.
- Select preferred payment gateway.
- Pay application fee.
- Enter scholarship information – annual income, whether you want to avail benefits of tuition fee waiver scheme etc.
- Click on ‘save and proceed’ button.
- Enter academic details (8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th class) – year of passing, name of the school, district and state.
- Click on ‘save and proceed’ button.
- Enter additional academic information (12th class) – name of qualifying examination, HSC roll number, name of the board, year of passing, academic group, group code, marks scored in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Optional subjects etc.
- Click on ‘save and proceed’ button.
- Enter additional information – TFC Center for Certificate verification, mother tongue, civic native, civic school, native district, medium of instruction, parent’s occupation etc.
- Click on ‘save and proceed’ button.
- Preview your application form and search for errors.
- Submit your application form.
- Download your application form and take its printout for further use.
Details required
While filling up the application form, candidates are supposed to enter the following information –
- Personal details: Name of the candidate, guardian’s name, date of birth, gender, nationality, nativity, religion, community, category, Aadhar number (optional) etc.
- Address: Address of residence, district, state, pin-code etc.
- Scholarship details: Annual income and requirement of scholarship/tuition fee waiver/other schemes.
- Academic details (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th class): Year of passing, name of school, district and state.
- Additional academic details (12th class): Qualifying examination, qualifying examination registration/roll number, name of the board of examination, year of passing, academic group, group code, subject-wise marks etc.
- Additional information: TFC Center for Certificate verification, mother tongue, civic native, civic school, native district, medium of instruction, parent’s occupation etc.

- Fill up and submit the application form before the deadline.
