BCECE is a state-level entrance exam. The main aim of this program is to facilitate the admission of eligible candidates into various UG-level academic programs. Some such academic programs include – engineering, agriculture, nursing, physiotherapy, paramedical courses, etc.

BCECE Eligibility Criteria
In order to be considered eligible to apply for this test, a candidate must meet certain requirements. He/she must satisfy both academic and non-academic requirements. I’ve laid out all those requirements in this section.
Nationality
- Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for this test.
- Since this is a state-level test, only candidates who have a domicile of Bihar are eligible to apply for it (exceptions are discussed below). Candidates whose parents are permanent residents of Bihar are eligible to apply for this test.
- Candidates whose parents are working for the Central Govt (PSUs, Armed forces etc) are eligible to apply for this test.
- Candidates (living outside Bihar) whose parents are working in the state of Bihar are also eligible to apply for this test.
Educational Qualification
BCECE test facilitates admission into different types of academic programs. The educational qualification required may vary from one course to another. Here is the course-wise list of academic qualifications required –
- Minimum educational qualification for engineering courses: Completed 12th Science with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The minimum aggregate mark required is 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST candidates).
- Minimum educational qualification for biology-based courses: Completed 12th Science with Physics and Biology as compulsory subjects. The minimum aggregate mark required is 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST candidates).
- Minimum educational qualification for pharmacy courses: Completed 12th Science with Physics and Chemistry subjects. The minimum aggregate mark required is 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
- Minimum educational qualification for agriculture courses: Completed 12th Science with Agriculture as a compulsory subject. The minimum aggregate mark required is 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
- Candidates appearing for the final exam (12th Science) are also eligible to apply for this test. However, they are required to submit proof of passing the 12th class at the time of counseling and the admission process.

Eligible candidates may apply for BCECE online. The online application process is fairly simple and straightforward. Come, let us check out this process –
Step by step registration process
- Visit the official website of BCECE (bceceboard.bihar.gov.in).
- Click on ‘BCECE 2023’ link or tab.
- Click on the ‘New registration’ tab or link. The application form can be divided into two parts – Part A and Part B.
- A registration page will open. Candidates are supposed to enter the following details on this page – group (PCM, PCB, PCA etc), name, DoB, reservation category, mobile number, email address, password etc.
- Enter the details required and click on ‘Sign Up’ button.
- On signing up successfully, a candidate will obtain an activation code via his/her email and mobile number. Make sure that you enter a valid email id in the registration form.
- Click on the ‘Applicant login’ tab and click on ‘Activate your account’ button.
- Enter the activation code (sent to email and mobile number) and activate your account.
- After activating his/her account, a candidate will be able to login using his/her email id and password (set while registering).
- After account activation, candidates must provide their personal information such as – gender, father’s name, mother’s name, identification mark, father’s income, address etc.
- Apart from personal details, candidates are also supposed to upload two documents – scanned image of his/her passport size photo and scanned image of his/her signature.
- After uploading scanned copies of photo and signature, candidates are supposed to enter their academic information (year of passing 10th and 12th, name of school, status etc).
- After filling up necessary information, candidates may check the application form again and edit it (for correcting mistakes). After editing, make sure that you click on ‘Update’ button to save the changes made.
- After revising the form, candidates may save the form and submit it.
- After form submission, candidates are supposed to pay the application fee. It can be paid online (via credit/debit cards, net banking or UPI) or offline (via bank challan).
- Candidates may download the application form (Part A and B) and keep it for future reference and use.
How much should I pay up (for applying), some of you may ask.
Application fee
Application fees depends upon factors such as – category of the candidate and his/her academic group. Here’s how much you should pay –
- PCM/PCB/CBA/MBA/MCA/PCA – 500 INR for SC/ST candidates and 1000 INR for General/OBC candidates.
- PCMB – 550 INR for SC/ST candidates and 1100 INR for General/OBC candidates.
Documents required
While filling up the application form, candidates are supposed to upload scanned images of candidate’s passport size photo and signature specimen. These documents should been the following standards –
- Scanned image of passport size photo should be of the size – 3.5 x 4.5 cm.
- Signature specimens must be created using black or blue ink on white paper.
- Scanned images must be in JPEG file format. Its size should not exceed 100kb.
Form correction
Form correction window will close on 1st week of April, 2023. Candidates are supposed to get their form corrected (if needed) before the specified date. Follow these steps to correct your form –
- Visit official website of BCECE.
- Search for ‘BCECE form correction’ link and click on it.
- Login using relevant credentials (your email id and password).
- Edit your form and make corrections where required.
- Go through your form and click in ‘Submit’ button.
BCECE 2023 Syllabus & Exam Pattern
Syllabus & marks distribution
BCECE syllabus can be broadly classified into 5 subjects. These subjects include –
- Physics: Laws of motion, optics, thermodynamics, energy and power, kinematics, motion, gravitation, properties of matter etc.
- Chemistry: Thermodynamics, chemical reactions, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, states of matter, atomic structure, equilibrium, molecular structure, covalent bonds etc.
- Mathematics: Integration, differentiation, matrices, ratio and proportion, statistics, probability, permutation and combination, continuity, quadratic equations, set theory, functions, limits, binomial theorem etc.
- Biology: Animal and plant physiology, biotechnology, cell structure, reproduction, environmental science, cell structure etc.
- Agriculture: Crop protection, fruits and vegetables, flowers, dairy and fish science, preservation of fruits and vegetables, breeding, soil, animal husbandry etc.

BCECE 2023 Admit Card
BCECE admit card contains the following information –
