This essay is on the topic – my favorite sportsperson. I just love football and it is my favorite sport. Naturally, my favorite sportsman is a footballer. He is none other than the great Argentine Sergio Aguero.

Yes, Sergio Aguero is my favorite footballer and sportsperson. And this essay is dedicated to him. Sergio Aguero is fondly known as Kun Aguero among his fans. He is one of the best center forwards in the modern game. In this essay, I’ve covered an outline of his career, his achievements, his qualities, and interesting facts about his life.

Before taking a close look at Aguero’s life and career, let me tell you more about how I fell in love with his style of play. I’m a football fanatic. I just love this game. I’ve been playing football since my childhood.

As a child, I’d play football on the street with my friends. We would use bricks as make-shift goalposts and play football. Gradually, I got hooked on the game. Seeing my interest in football, my parents took me to the local football club and enrolled me in their youth team.

Though I couldn’t make it to the professional level, I still play amateur football. The game has taught me a lot about life in general. Football has taught me the importance of dedication and hard work. It has taught me that with dedication and hard work, one can improve his/her game! And it can also help one improve in any walk of life/activity!

In short, I’m crazy about football. My parents are also avid football fans. They support the EPL club Manchester City. We often travel to the stadium to catch live matches. These days, I follow the club’s matches on TV or the Internet. Internet and smartphones have made it very easy to catch football action anytime, anywhere!

I was very happy when my favorite club signed Sergio Aguero from the Spanish club Atletico Madrid. Before City signed him, he made a name for himself at the Spanish club. I sure had noted him playing for Atletico in the Europa League and the Spanish La Liga.

When Manchester City signed him, I was very happy. I knew that he was a world-class forward who could take the team to new heights. In his first season at Manchester City, he scored thirty goals in all competitions for the club.

His most important goal came in the last minute of the last game of the season! Well, who can forget that legendary match? Manchester City were on the verge of losing the EPL title. In stepped Aguero who fired the winning goal with seconds left to spare. His goals ensured a victory for the club and helped them lift the Premier League title in dramatic fashion.

That last match of the season turned him into a club legend. In total, he has played over three hundred and ninety games for Manchester City. And in these matches, he has scored two hundred and sixty goals across all competitions.

His numbers are pretty awesome. And these numbers are enough to cement his ‘Legend’ status at the club. His trophy cabinet with Manchester City is even more amazing. In his long Man City career, he has won the following main team honors – Premier League (five times), FA Cup, Football League Cup (six times), and FA Community Shield (thrice). Apart from that, he has also won many individual accolades while playing for the club.

As of now, Sergio Aguero has joined the Spanish club FC Barcelona. Yes, his departure did disappoint me. He is still very good (physically and mentally). I believe that he still can contribute to this team at the highest level. But I respect his decision. Sergio Aguero will always have a special place in the heart of Manchester City fans. He is a club legend for us.

Okay, enough about his career at City. Let us talk about his early life and career now. Sergio Aguero was born in Buenos Aires. Since childhood, little Aguero was interested in playing football. Nothing could keep him away from football.

He began his career at the youth side of Argentine club Independiente. He joined their youth team at the age of nine. By the age of fifteen, we were a part of the club’s first team. He rose through the ranks at the club at an impressive pace.

In total, he played over fifty games for the club and scored around twenty-three goals for them in all competitions. His next destination was the Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

He adapted to the superior Spanish La Liga in an impressive way. At Atletico, he developed into a dangerous forward. When the club’s star striker Fernando Torres left the club, Aguero seized the opportunity and made the most of it. He formed a rewarding strike partnership with Diego Forlan.

In total, he has played over two hundred and thirty games for Atletico Madrid. He has scored over a hundred goals for them in all competitions. With Atletico, he has won the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup.

At the international level, he plays for the Argentina national team. He had a successful tournament at the recently concluded edition of Copa America (where Argentina lifted the trophy).

On the field, Aguero is a complete forward. He is capable of donning the following roles – striker, second striker, or center forward. He has great pace, strength, stamina, technique, finishing, tactical awareness, creativity, and vision.

Throughout his career, he worked really hard to stay on top. He had his fair share of injuries. But he faced those adversities bravely and emerged victorious. His life continues to inspire me.
