Football is my favorite sport. And my favorite sportsperson is Harry Kane. He is one of the best strikers in the EPL. This essay is dedicated to my idol and favorite sportsperson – Harry Kane.
Being a football fan, I follow pretty much all the leagues and tournaments. Among different domestic leagues, EPL or English Premier League is my favorite. What sets EPL apart from the rest of the leagues, you may ask. Well, EPL is fast-paced, physical, and the most competitive league in the world.
No team can absolutely dominate this league. There are many quality teams that vie for the top four spots. For a striker to thrive in the EPL, he should have something special in him. And for the past four to five seasons, Harry Kane has managed to shine for Tottenham Hotspur consistently.
This shows Harry’s true class. The EPL has had many one-hit wonders and one-season wonders. But what sets Harry apart is his consistency. He has been scoring goals for his club consistently.
He is tall, strong, powerful, agile, and has the striker’s instinct. He is a complete striker, I must say. In short, I’m an ardent fan of Harry Kane. I’ve been watching his performances for over four years now and I’m thoroughly impressed by his quality on the field.
Harry was born in London. Naturally, he ended up at one of the London-based clubs. Yes, he began his career at Tottenham Hotspur. He began his career with their youth team. He quickly proved his talent and earned a promotion to the first team. Initially, he was loaned out to different clubs within England.
This was done to help him get some exposure and top-class experience. In 2014, he started playing a more prominent role at the club. The new manager put his trust in the young striker and Harry didn’t let him down!
In his first full season at the club, he managed to become EPL’s second-highest goalscorer. And for this impressive feat, he was awarded the Young Player of the Year award. Since then, Kane has been Spurs’ talisman striker.
On many occasions, he managed to get his team out of trouble. He is not just good at scoring goals, he is also quite good at holding up the ball for other players, linking up with other players, and assisting.
Let us talk about his National career now. He made his England debut in 2015. He has represented England at major tournaments such as – Euro and World Cup. As of now, he has led the National team to the final of Euro 2020.
His on-field achievements and performances are enough to turn critics into fans. But off the field too, he stays away from unnecessary controversies. He is a gentleman off the field. Discipline, hard work, determination, and consistency – these are some of Harry’s qualities that I’d like to develop in my life.
His consistency is what inspires me the most. He became the best by putting up consistent performances each season. Harry still has a long way to go in his career. I hope and pray that he wins many more titles and awards for his club and country.
