Reputed institutes rely on a merit-based admission process. If you want to get admission into a good college, you must crack the relevant entrance exam. These exams are conducted to facilitate the merit-based admission process.
Under the merit-based admission process, seats are distributed among deserving candidates on the basis of their performance in relevant entrance exams and/or board exams. Some colleges are also known to carry out donation-based admission processes (through management quota).
Applicants prefer Govt seats over private ones. This is due to the fact that Government colleges are known to provide subsidized education to students. It means that these colleges charge relatively lower tuition fees.
