GNM Admission in Agra, Uttar Pradesh

GNM admission process may vary from one college to another. It depends upon the type of college. Broadly speaking, GNM colleges in UP can be classified into two types – private colleges and government colleges. Private colleges are owned and managed by private entities such as – educational trusts, charitable organizations, and other bodies. Government institutes are owned and managed by relevant departments of the State Government.

Government colleges and reputed private institutes carry out merit-based admission processes. Under the merit-based admission process, seats are distributed among deserving candidates on the basis of their performance in relevant entrance exams and/or board exams.

Some private institutes are known to carry out direct or donation-based admission processes. In short, the admission process may vary from one college to another.

GNM stands for General Nursing and Midwifery. It is a nursing education program. Technically, this program is equivalent to a diploma in nursing. The program is 3.5 years long.

The academic program is generally three years long. Towards the end of the program, a candidate must also undergo 6 month long internship stint.
