Ujjain is home to many engineering colleges. In this post, I’ve listed down some of the best engineering colleges in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. This guide will be of help to students belonging to MP.
There are three main types of engineering colleges in MP –
- Govt Engineering Colleges
- Aided Engineering Colleges
- Self Financing Engineering Colleges
Each type of engineering college has its own characteristics. Let us check them out one by one – Government Engineering Colleges: These institutes are owned and maintained by the MP Government. DTE (Directorate of Technical Education) is the body that handles the administration of such colleges. Since State Government is responsible for funding these colleges, they charge very low tuition fees. This is the main reason why Govt Engineering colleges are very popular among students in MP. Aided Engineering Colleges: These institutes are partially funded by the DTE. They are not fully managed by the Government. Self Financing Colleges: These institutes are fully owned and operated by Private organizations, trusts and charitable organizations. Due to the private ownership, these institutes are free to set and revise their fees structure. But the fees must not exceed the guidelines and mandate set by the Government. Engineering colleges in Ujjain are known to offer B.E. or B.Tech. programs. B.E. stands for Bachelor of Engineering. B.Tech. stands for Bachelor of Technology. Some institutes are also known to offer B.Tech. + M.Tech. Integrated programs. B.E. or B.Tech. course is 4 years long. Each academic year is divided into two semesters (of six months each). The entire academic program thus consists of eight semesters.
