It is an undergraduate level Bachelor’s Degree course. The academic program is three years long. Each academic year is divided into two semesters. Each semester is six months long.

Students who have passed the 12th class are eligible to pursue this course. Subject/stream requirement (in 12th class) may vary from one B.Voc. course to another.

B.Voc. is a relatively new vocational training program. Traditional vocational training courses have been offered in formats such as – Diplomas, skill diplomas, certifications etc. But these programs lacked a ‘Bachelor’s Degree’ tag. What these traditional courses could offer at best was – Diploma certificate.

UGC decided to step in and change this situation. As a result, they introduced B.Voc. course. This new course format brought with it many unique features. The main attraction of course was the availability of a Bachelor’s Degree. Yes, on completing this course, a graduate will earn Bachelor’s Degree certificate from the Governing body.

Besides that, the program also offers flexible entry and exit options for its candidates. Applicants who have completed relevant ITI courses, technicians, or working professionals who have adequate work experience may use relaxed entry norms and gain admission through lateral entry.

Students pursuing this course may choose to quit the program in between and still walk away with a certificate. For example – on quitting after completing one year, a student will obtain a Diploma certificate. On quitting after completing two years, a student will obtain an Advanced Diploma certificate.
