Types of architecture colleges
Architecture colleges can be classified into different types on the basis of the entity that owns the college. Based on this parameter, these colleges can be broadly classified into two types –
- Government architecture colleges
- Private architecture colleges
Govt institutes are managed and funded by the State or Central Government. Private colleges are also known as self-financing colleges. These colleges are managed and funded by private charitable trusts and organizations.
Admission process
Architecture entrance exams are conducted to facilitate merit based admission process. These exams are conducted at State, College and National levels. Under merit based admission system, seats are distributed among deserving candidates on the basis of their performance in relevant entrance exam and/or board exam. Some colleges are also known to conduct donation based admission process.
Types of architecture courses
Architecture courses can be classified into different types on the basis of different parameters. One such parameter is – academic level. Based on the academic level, these courses can be classified into the following levels – UG, PG and Doctoral Degree.
