Indian Navy is well known for its strength and skilled staff! So, it is quite natural that the Indian Navy is very strict, when it comes to recruitment of new candidates. They have a well structured selection process that consists of different stages like written exam, SSB (Services Selection Board) Interview, Medical tests etc. Also, much importance is given to Educational qualifications and Physical standards, if the recruitment being made is to fill Pilot/Observer post in Indian Navy. These two posts belong to the Aviation wing of Navy, also known as the Naval Aviation arm. In this article, I will describe in detail about the physical standards requirement laid out by Indian Navy. To make it through the selection process and become a Pilot/Observer, one must satisfy physical standards requirements related to height and eyesight.
Physical standards (Height and Eyesight) for Indian Navy Pilot/Observer aspirants
Height
There is a minimum height requirement present, when it comes to both male and female aspirants. For men, the minimum height requirement is- 162.5 cms. In case of women, it is 152 cms. Candidates’ weight, leg length, sitting height and thigh length is also taken into consideration based on their height.
Eyesight
Since the posts we are interested in (Pilot/Observer) are part of Aviation wing of the Navy, much importance is given to eyesight and distant vision in particular. Minimum vision standard for Distant Vision is 6/6, 6/9, which should be correctable to 6/6, 6/6. Color blind and night blind candidates are not allowed to apply for these posts.
