Earlier, I wrote an article where I revealed some important information regarding the Havildar Education recruitment in the Army Educational Corps of Indian Army. In that article, I listed information like- age limit, educational qualifications required etc. This article is almost like a part 2 of that article. In this article, I will be dealing with the selection process followed in case of Havildar Education recruitment.
Havildar Education (Army Educational Corps) selection process
First of all, there is a screening test. The purpose of screening test is to evaluate the candidates and filter out the ‘best from the rest’! You see, the initial number of applications that the authorities get is too much. So, in order to shrink that list and filter out good candidates, screening test is used.
Physical Fitness test: running distance of 1.6 km in maximum 6.20 minutes; minimum 6 beam pull-ups; Zig-Zag balance test; 9 Feet ditch.
Medical standards: Candidates should not be suffering from serious illnesses such as Hydrocele, bone deformities, varicose veins or piles. There should be no history of mental illness too. Chest should be well developed with minimum 5 cm expansion. Teeth count should be normal and so should gum health be. Remustering candidates should be fit and in the medical category of SHAPE-1.
Written Examination: candidates who successfully manage to clear the screening test, physical fitness test and medical tests are then selected to appear for written examination. The written examination is 2 hours long. There are separate set of questions for Science and Arts stream students respectively. There is also a common set of questions that both Science and Arts stream students have to attempt.
Part 1 (For both Science and Arts stream students): This is the common part and it consists of 50 questions related to General Knowledge and General English topics.
Part 2 for Science stream students: Only Science stream students may attempt this part. In this section, questions will be related to topics such as- mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and computer science.
Part 2 for Arts stream students: Only Arts stream students may attempt this part. This section consists of questions related to topics such as- mathematics, history, geography, political science and economics.

Teaching Aptitude Test: Candidates who successfully clear the written part are then selected to attend the Teaching Aptitude Test. It is just another Interview to evaluate the candidate’s qualities. If a candidate manages to clear this interview and get featured in the merit list, he will be enrolled in the Army Educational Corps for training.
