After GSEB announces the results of 10th standard students, confusion among them just increases! This process is bound to happen each year! And this time, in 2014, the scenario is not any different from the previous years! Students and parents are all confused alike. They are confused about selecting that perfect stream after passing GSEB board exams this year. Here, I’ll give some tips, suggestions and advice regarding this topic.

Here, I’m listing the three major streams that students can choose and pursue. They are-
How to choose the right stream?
This is the confusing part. But a lot can be decided easily based on the marks that a student got in the 2014 Board examination. If the marks are too low, then one must realize that one’s aptitude is not suitable for selecting Science stream. In such cases, students must select either Arts stream or Commerce stream.
After marks scored comes the ‘interest’ and ‘passion’ part. If you are not really interested in Science stream and its subdivisions like Mathematics group and Biology group, there is no point in selecting it. Similarly, if you are not interested in Economics and related subjects, don’t go for Commerce stream. Give your area of interests due consideration. Don’t just fall prey to peer pressure.
Next comes the job prospect part. If it is ultimately a banking job that you want in your life, then what is the point of going through the rigors of science stream, when you can bag a good banking job by opting for Commerce or Arts stream? If it is a good Government job that you want, let me tell you that you may achieve it after pursuing even Commerce and Arts streams also, thanks to direct competitive exams associated with such jobs! So, never think that Commerce and Arts stream have poor job scope. It all depends on you!
Teachers’ guidance also will be handy during this testing time. A good teacher will be able to point out the strengths and weaknesses of his/her students and guide them accordingly. So, before selecting a stream after 10th board results, make sure that you consult a teacher and seek his/her honest guidance.
