Bartending courses in India

In India, there are certificate and diploma programs available, when it comes to bartending training. Such programs are usually not recognized by the Government. They are just training programs aimed at imparting bartending skills to students.

 

Talking about bartending training programs, they can be classified into three types, based on content- beginner’s course, intermediate level course and pro course.

 

There exist many private institutes offering different types of bartending courses. Usually the institutes tailor the course and brand them using a catchy name of their own!

Note: There are many more courses available. All courses essentially cover the same topics. They are labelled by various institutes under different names. Ultimately, the course content is more or less the same!

 

Note: The above mentioned courses have classroom lectures and hands on practical training. Evaluation is made though theory exam and practical test.

 

Course duration

Generally, certificate programs are 6 months long (duration may vary, from one institute to another).

 

Diploma programs mentioned above lasts for a period of 1 year (duration may vary, from one institute to another).

 

Eligibility criteria

10th passed is the minimum requirement in case of most institutes. Some institutes have 10+2 passed (any stream- Science/Commerce/Arts) as the minimum criteria.

Other than the fixed remuneration, a bartender also may earn decent amount of money through tips from happy clients! General starting salary could be anywhere between 10-20K Rupees. In case of high end restaurants, bars and resorts, the salary figure will be much higher.
