The AIIMS are a group of autonomous government medical colleges. At present, there exists 15 AIIMS institutes across India. The GoI is planning to establish more AIIMS institutes across India. AIIMS New Delhi is the oldest of the lot. It is the most popular and prestigious medical college in India.
An AIIMS institute is an autonomous medical institute. It is an institute of national importance. An AIIMS institute offers UG and PG level medical programs such as – MBBS, MS, MD, PG Diploma programs etc. The institute also offers nursing and dental education programs.
By securing admission into an AIIMS institute, a student will get access to excellent infrastructure, well-qualified faculty and world-class learning amenities. AIIMS UG and AIIMS PG level entrance exams are conducted to facilitate admission into AIIMS institutes (for MBBS and PG admission).
Securing admission into an AIIMS institute (for MBBS or PG course) is not an easy task. Each year, hundreds of thousands of candidates apply for AIIMS UG and PG medical entrance exam. Only a handful of them manage to secure admission into an AIIMS institute.
