This course is for those Diploma holders, who want to pursue Marine Engineering and want to become Marine Engineers on Merchant Navy ships! Note that not all Branches’ Diploma holders are eligible to pursue this course. I’ve clearly mentioned the branches that are deemed eligible, in this article.
Is it possible to pursue Marine Engineering after doing Diploma?
Yes, it is possible! The reason why most Diploma holders are confused is due to the fact that most Marine Engineering programs, such as- M.E./M.Tech. Marine Engineering, GME (Graduate Marine Engineering) course, PGDME (Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering) etc are meant for UG Engineering Degree holders, not for Diploma holders.

How to do Marine Engineering after completing Diploma in Engineering course
A course named DME (Diploma in Marine Engineering) is available, which Diploma Engineering holders may make use of. Not all Branches’ Diploma holders are eligible to pursue this 2 years long pre-sea training course. Also check – Diploma in Engineering after 12th.
