Hide your number (private call) in India

These days we can’t live without mobile phones, phone calls. It has become an integral part of our lives! But mobile phones also eat into our privacy and comfort also. For example, each time we call a stranger, our number is shared, because it will get displayed on their caller id! And sometimes, things can get bit menacing too in android phone. For example, insurance agents and car showroom folks are well known to repeatedly keep calling on phone numbers of interested parties. In such cases, hiding one’s phone number and making a private call is recommended in a caller id for recipient’s phone and just tap caller id and select hide number in phone’s settings and your number permanently hidden. But how can such private calls be dialled from our phone? Wait, I’ll provide the solution in this article.

How to hide number/make private call in India

The trick is to use a special code, right before writing the number, which you want to call from your mobile phone. The code in case of India is- *31# in a phone app for caller id.

For example, if you want to dial this number- 123456789, without revealing your number, just dial this- *31#123456789 and hit dial button, that’s it a caller id! Basically, you just need to add *31# before dialling the number from your phone. This is the code for users in India and it differs from Country to Country for phone app use a specific number when you phone calls and avoid caller id blocking.

Important message-

However, for this code to work, your Network Provider must support this service of masking caller ID. Otherwise this code won’t just work in that caller id. So, before starting using it settings app, do contact your Network Provider and make sure that this service is provided by them for service provider only use a private numbers or hide number in the call settings and delete outgoing calls is the simplest way.

Some Network Providers offer Private calling service for a certain monthly fee in India. So, without subscribing that service, this code won’t work and hide number for verizon app or verizon website with caller id  your not use a toll free numbers.
