It is a 1 year long PG course. In some Colleges, the semester system of teaching exists, where the 1 year duration is divided into two semesters, with each semester lasting a period of 6 months.
In case of some other Institutes, semester system of teaching doesn’t exist. The course is presented as a 1 year program.

There are number of Private NEWS as well as other TV Channels where one may find job after finishing the course. One may also find job in Internet based publishing houses. Advertising agencies also hire Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication holders. MNCs and big business houses these days are known to hire Journalism and Mass Communication professional to take care of their Corporate Communication affairs. Starting salary generally tends to be between 2-5 Lakh Rupees per year.
