CMAT stands for Common Management Admission Test. This exam is conducted each year by the NTA (National Testing Agency). It is a national level entrance test. CMAT 2021 Application Process

CMAT application process can be carried out online. In fact, it is the only mode of registering for the test and filling up the application form! Applicants may find the application form on the official website of NTA.

Online registration starts on: 1st week of November, 2020
Last date to register online: Last week of November or 1st week of December, 2021
Last date to pay application fees: 1st week of December, 2021

 

What is the registration process like, some of you may ask. Here is the step by step guide –

 

Step by step registration process

  1. As discussed before, registration process can be carried out online. Applicants may visit the offician website of CMAT by NTA.
  2. On the official website, click on the link to register for CMAT 2021.
  3. An application form will pop up. Fill up the form correctly by entering personal details such as – name of the applicant, his/her email address, his/her phone number etc.
  4. After entering personal details, an applicant may click on register button.
  5. If everything’s done correctly, the candidate will obtain login credentials and system generated application number on their phone and email address.
  6. Apart from personal details, candidates are also supposed to upload scanned images of their passport size photograph (JPG or JPEG, size between 10-200kb) and signature specimen (JPG or JPEG, size between 4-30kb).
  7. The application process won’t be complete until the candidate pays application fees. Application fees can be paid online while submitting the application form. It can be paid through credit/debit cards, UPI transaction or net banking.

CMAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

In order to be considered eligible to appear for CMAT, a candidate must satisfy certain requirements (academic and non-academic). Here are those conditions –

  • Nationality: Applicant should be a citizen of India
  • Age limit: There is no age limit
  • Academic qualification: Minimum educational qualification required is – completed Bachelor’s Degree (at least 3 years long) from a recognized college/university.
  • Aggregate marks: Minimum aggregate marks scored by the candidate in Bachelor’s Degree should be 50% marks
  • Other criteria: Candidates pursuing final semester studies/just appeared for final semester exams (of Bachelor’s Degree program) are also eligible to apply for CMAT. But they must satisfy the above mentioned eligibility criteria before the 2021-22 academic year kicks in!

The main aim of CMAT is to evaluate a candidate in areas such as – language comprehension, quantitative techniques, data interpretation, logical reasoning and general awareness. Come, let us take a closer look at the syllabus and marks distribution –

  • Language comprehension: English usage, sentence correction, reading comprehension, paragraph completion, synonyms & antonyms, sentence improvement and more.
  • General awareness: Current affairs (National & International economy), business, economics, trade, history, geography, politics, Indian constitution, science, culture, books and authors, finance and more.
  • Quantitative techniques and data interpretation: number system, percentages, vectors, permutations and combinations, profit and loss, geometry, trigonometry, ratio and proportions and more.
  • Logical reasoning: visual reasoning, analogy test, true and false, symbol tests and problems, critical reasoning, seating arrangement, direction, matrices, statements & conclusions and more.

CMAT 2021 Admit Card

CMAT admit card contains the following vital information –

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Photograph
  • Exam Center
  • And more…

 

It is simply not possible to enter the exam center without admit card. Candidates are required to provide their admit card when requested by relevant authorities at the exam center. How to obtain CMAT admit card, some of you may ask.

 

NTA provides CMAT admit card online. Candidates may access NTA’s website, enter relevant credentials, login and download their CMAT admit card. Candidates who have registered for the test may download their admit card on January 2021 (1st week). They may download it and take a printout for further use.

 

CMAT 2021 Answer Key

After conducting the examination, NTA will publish CMAT answer key on their website. Applicants may keep an eye on the official website of NTA and download the answer key after entering relevant credentials and logging in.

 

If you want to raise and objection or point out an error in the answer key, you may fill an application process and do so. The processing fees for this process is 1000 INR. You may pay the processing fees online (through credit/debit cards, net banking or UPI).

 

CMAT 2021 Result & Admission Process

NTA will annouce CMAT result in February, 2021 (first week). The result will be announced online on the official website of NTA. Candidates may keep an eye on the official website of NTA in the 1st week of February, 2021.

 

NTA website will display the following things in result section – total score obtained by the candidate, marks scored by the candidate in each section and percentile score of the candidate. After declaring online result, NTA will also release the rank list.

 

Once NTA releases CMAT merit list, candidates may use their CMAT score and apply for admission into desired college(s). Please note that candidates must deal with admission process separately. Many colleges are known to accept CMAT score for admission process. Candidates must apply for admission into these colleges and follow their selection process.

 

Selection process may vary from one college to another. Personal Interview, Group Discussion and Aptitude Test – many colleges are known to conduct these tests as part of their selection process.
