CG PET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
In order to be considered eligible to appear for CG PET, one must satisfy certain requirements set forth by the CPEB. These conditions/requirements are both academic and non-academic in nature. Candidates who meet these requirements are deemed fit for admission (by the authorities).
Nationality, domicile, age limit, and educational qualification – these parameters form an integral part of CG PET eligibility criteria. Let us check them out one by one –
Nationality
- Indian nationals are eligible to apply for this test.
- Candidates who are domicile of Chhattisgarh state are eligible to apply for this test (exceptions exist).
Age limit
- Candidate should not be less than 17 years of age as on December 31, 2023.
- The upper age limit is 30 years (as on July 2023). The upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for SC/ST/OBC/PwD and female applicants.
Educational Qualification
- A candidate must have passed the 12th class or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Optional subjects may include any one of the following subjects – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Vocational subject (Technical).
- The minimum aggregate mark required is – 45%. For SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates, the minimum aggregate mark required is 40%.

Step-by-step registration process
- Visit the official website of CG PET to search for the application form.
- Choose the exam that you want to apply for.
- Upload a scanned image of your passport-size photograph and signature specimen.
- Enter basic details such as – the name of the candidate, father’s name, mother’s name, DoB, gender, category, identification mark, etc.
- Enter contact details – address, mobile number, email address, etc
- Choose an exam center.
- Go through the application form and make sure that you have entered the details correctly.
- Accept the declaration, click on the ‘Submit’ button, and submit the application form.
- In order to complete the application process, one must pay the application fee. Fees can be paid online through credit/debit cards, net banking, or UPI.
- Take a printout of the application form and keep it for future use and reference.
Documents required
While filling up the application form, a candidate has to keep the following documents ready –
- 10th board mark sheet (candidates are supposed to provide their 10th board roll number while filling out the form)
- Scanned image of passport-size photo, signature, and thumb impression
- Candidates may obtain the image format (for scanned images) online. Download the image, fix your photo, and thumb impression on it. Scan this image and upload the scanned image.
Scanned images must follow these guidelines –
- The scanned image of the photo should be in JPEG format. The size of this image should be 40-60KB. Its dimension should be – 3.5 x 4.5 cm
- The scanned image of the signature specimen should be in JPEG format. The size of this image should be 20-40KB
