The course is three years long. It consists of six semesters and each semester is six months long. External/main examinations are conducted at the end of each semester. Internal exams are conducted in between (by the college/institute).
How’s B.Voc. course different from regular Bachelor’s Degree courses, you may ask. Regular Degree programs focus on classroom lectures and learning. On the other hand, B.Voc. programs focus mainly on skill development and practical knowledge. The curriculum gives much attention to these aspects (classroom lectures are not ignored though).
Another major difference is that B.Voc. program offers multiple entry and exit options. While regular Degree programs do offer lateral entry, they don’t offer exit options as flexible as that of B.Voc. programs.
When it comes to B.Voc. programs, ITI holders, technicians and professionals who have adequate work experience have access to multiple entry options. Students pursuing B.Voc. course also have access to the following exit options – If a student chooses to quit the program after completing one year, he/she will obtain a Diploma certificate.
