Architecture education in MP

As I mentioned before, MP is home to various reputed architecture colleges. These courses offer different types of academic programs. Architecture courses in MP are offered in formats such as –

1. Degree course
2. Diploma course

The Degree course is none other than B.Arch. It stands for Bachelor of Architecture. The Diploma course is called Diploma in Architectural Assistantship.   B.Arch. course can be pursued after completing 12th standard with PCM subjects. In order to secure admission into a reputed college, one must crack relevant entrance exam(s). Diploma in Architectural Assistantship course can be pursued after completing 10th class. The course is 3 years long.   There are three main types of Architecture colleges in Madhya Pradesh. They are –

• Aided Colleges
• Self Financed (Private) Colleges

Government colleges are owned and operated by the State Government. Since most of the expense is borne by the Government, it is able to provide subsidized education to students.   Aided colleges are not entirely managed by the State Government. But they do lend a helping hand to such colleges. Self Financed or Private colleges are managed by Private trusts and Organizations.
