Step by step application process
- Application process can be carried out online. Candidates may visit the official website of AILET test and begin the application process.
- While filling up the application form, candidates will be asked to provide details such as – name, address, email address, phone number etc. Make sure that you enter correct details in the specified format.
- Apart from personal details and contact details, candidates will also be asked to provide their passport size photograph and signature specimen. Scan your passport size photo, signature specimen and upload wherever required. Make sure that the scanned specimen adheres to the guidelines set by the authorities.
- After submitting the application process, candidates may take printout of the application form (for reference and further use).
Application fees
- The application process won’t be complete until an applicant pays the application fees. Application fees may be paid in two ways – online mode or offline mode.
- Paying online is quite easy. An applicant may pay online via credit card/debit card/net banking.
- When it comes to offline payment, an applicant may deposit the required sum at relevant post office.

AILET Eligibility Criteria
AILET is a National level law entrance exam. This entrance exam is conducted to facilitate admission into UG and PG level law programs. As a result, eligibility criteria too may vary from one academic level to another. Here are the details –
BA LL.B. eligibility criteria
Minimum educational qualification required is – 12th passed from a recognized board. Candidate must also have scored at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
LL.M. eligibility criteria
Minimum educational qualification required is – completed Bachelor’s Degree in law education from a recognized college/University. Minimum aggregate marks required in Bachelor’s Degree program is 55% marks (50% for reserved category candidates). Candidates studying in final year of LL.B. program may also apply.

PhD pattern and marks distribution
PhD entrance paper consists of two sections. It contains objective type questions related to research methodology and legal aptitude.

AILET 2023 Admit Card
AILET admit card contains the following details about the candidate –

Admit card is an important document. If you want to enter AILET exam hall, you must provide your admit card before relevant authority at the exam hall. How to obtain the admit card, some of you may ask.
AILET admit card can be downloaded online. NLU will publish it online on April 2023. After providing relevant credentials, a candidate may download his/her admit card online.
AILET 2023 Answer Key
Generally speaking, the answer key will be released few days after the exam is conducted. The answer key is released online. Candidates may keep an eye on the official website of NLU for updates regarding the answer key.
It is usually published in PDF format. Candidates may access the official website, provide relevant credentials and obtain it easily.
AILET 2023 Result and Merit List
NLU is known to announce AILET result online. Candidates may keep an eye on the official website and news portals. They are known to publish updates and notifications regularly.
BA LL.B. entrance result will be announced by May, 2023. LL.M. entrance result will be announced by July 2023 and PhD entrance result will be announced by July 2023.
Candidates may visit the official website, provide relevant credentials and obtain AILET result. The result is declared in category and rank-wise orders.
Merit list is published after result declaration. Merit list is crafted on the basis of AILET cutoff marks.
Admission process, counseling and interview
Merit list publication is followed by admission process. Admission letters are issued by May 2023. Candidates who received admission letter have to deposit fees by June 2023. Vacant seats will be filled up through spot counseling on June 2023. Personal interview of selected candidates will take place on July 2023.
