The Indian Coast Guard job posts covered in this article are- General Duty (Pilot/Navigator) and the Short Service Appointment Entry (Pilot only). In case of the General Duty (Pilot/Navigator) posts, only male candidates are eligible to apply. Whereas in case of Short Service Appointment, both male and female candidates are eligible to apply.

1 General Duty (Pilot/Navigator)

Here are the details like- age limit, educational qualifications and medical standards required-

 

Age Limit

Age limit is between 19-25 years of age. Relaxations are present in case of SC/ST candidates (5 years) and OBC (3 years) candidates.

 

Educational Qualifications required

Candidates must be Graduates, having Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline. Also, it is necessary that the candidates should have undergone 10+2 Science stream schooling with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the main subjects.

 

Medical and Physical standards

Minimum height requirement- 162.5 cm. Maximum height- 197 cm. Minimum leg length- 99 cm. Maximum leg length- 120 cm. Weight must be in proportion to height. Eyesight requirement- 6/6 without glasses in both eyes. Chest expansion minimum 5 cm.

 

If you think that you satisfy all the above mentioned conditions, you are eligible to apply for the post of General Duty (Pilot/Navigator). You may apply online using the site- joinindiancoastguard.gov.in. The application process is online. Deserving candidates will be called up for further selection process at centers like- Mumbai/Chennai/Kolkata/Chennai. The choice of center has to be made while applying online.

 

2 Short Service Appointment (Pilot only)

Under the SS entry mode, appointment of candidates is made for a period of 8 years. That is why it is called the Short Service appointment. This period of 8 years can be extended to 10 or even 14 years.

 

Here are details like- age limit, educational qualifications required, medical and physical standards required-

 

Age Limit

Between 19-25 years of age. In case of SC/ST candidates 5 years of age relaxation is given. In case of OBC candidates 3 years of age relaxation is provided.

 

Educational Qualifications required

This entry mode is for only those who possess CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence) approved by the DGCA. Also, 12th standard schooling is also required for one to be considered eligible to apply for this post.

 

Medical and Physical standards
