This article will be of much help to Vodafone Prepaid customers. In this article, I will describe in detail about how you may activate new 2G and 3G data packs, check the usage allowance, how to download internet settings etc. The post will be short and to the point.

How to activate 2G and 3G data packs, check usage and get Internet Settings on Vodafone prepaid-

#1 Method 1 (via USSD code)-

This is an easy method to execute. On your mobile, dial the USSD code– *111#. You will be given a menu like the one shown below-

If you want to directly access the data packs menu, you may dial- *111*6# also.

After selecting option 6 after dialling *111# or directly dialling *111*6#, you will be shown a menu like the one displayed below-

Now you may use options 1,2,3,4 to check details like- active data plan, usage allowance, activate new 2G data pack, activate new 3G data pack etc.

You may also use option number 5 to install the necessary Vodafone Internet Settings also!

#2 Method 2 (via SMS)-

This is a little time consuming method since you have to type a text message and send it to get the plan activated. To activate 2G data plan, send message-‘ ACT<space>VL(amount of the data plan)’ to the number 144.

For example, to activate the 1 day data pack worth 9 rupees, send the SMS- ACT VL9 to the number 144!

To get Internet settings via SMS, send this text- ‘ALL’ to the number 111.

In both the cases mentioned above, a few minutes after activating a plan, Vodafone will promptly send a confirmation message that the request has been received. Within couple of minutes, SMS notifying the activation of the data pack will also be sent.
