Physiotherapy mainly deals with illnesses, injuries or conditions that limit a person’s ability to move and perform functional activities that form an integral part of their day to day lives.   Physiotherapy forms an integral part of the healthcare system. It is used for restoration of health, rehabilitation, prevention of diseases/conditions, health promotion etc.   Injuries, certain conditions or illnesses can limit a person’s ability to move freely. This can prevent him/her from performing day to day activities. In other words, it will have a negative impact on his/her productivity and quality of life.   For example, a serious muscle injury can stop you from walking around freely!

It can keep you confined to your bed! This is where physiotherapy comes handy. Physiotherapy relies on movement, exercise, manual therapy and patient education to restore the patient’s health.   Physiotherapy is also extensively used for patient rehabilitation. For example, after undergoing a surgery (for an unrelated disease), patients are advised to undergo physiotherapy sessions (for speeding up the rehabilitation process).   A physiotherapist is a qualified professional who provides physical therapy. He/she is capable of conducting physical examination, diagnosis, prognosis, physical intervention, rehabilitation, patient education etc. Physiotherapists are also known as physical therapists.   Come, let us check out the list of best physiotherapy colleges now.
