D.Pharm. Course Details
D.Pharm. stands for Diploma in Pharmacy. As the name suggests, this is a diploma certificate course. The course duration is two years. Candidates who have passed 12th Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics subjects are eligible to pursue this course.
Let us focus on the course content now. As the name suggests, D.Pharm. deals with pharmaceutical science. Unlike B.Pharm. it is a diploma certificate program.
D.Pharm. course deals with different aspects of pharmaceutical science. The program trains students and turns them into skilled pharmacists. Pharmacy is the clinical health science that links chemistry with medical science!
This field of study primarily deals with the discovery, production, control, disposal, use, and dispensing of medication meant for therapeutic purposes. Have you ever been to a medical store? At a medical shop, a pharmacist goes through the prescription form and dispenses the appropriate medication to the customer. A pharmacist is knowledgeable about areas such as – biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, dispensing, pharmacology, physiology, etc.

When it comes to this (merit-based admission) process, marks secured by a candidate in PCB subjects are taken into consideration. A merit list is formed on the basis of marks secured by applicants. Seats are allotted among eligible and deserving candidates on the basis of their performance on the merit list.
However, the admission process may vary from one institute to another. For example – some private paramedical colleges are known to conduct direct and/or donation-based admission processes.
Fees
Tuition fees depend upon factors such as – the type of college, scholarship status of the candidate, rating of the college, etc. On average, the tuition fees could be anywhere between 10-30K INR per year.
