Types of nursing colleges
There exists two main types of nursing colleges in South India –
- Government nursing colleges
- Private nursing colleges
Government colleges are managed and operated by the State or Central Government. These colleges provide subsidized education to its students. When it comes to Government institutes, aspects like administration, funding, recruitment and admission is carried out by the Government. Private nursing colleges are managed and funded by private charitable trusts and organizations. These colleges charge relatively higher tuition fees.
Admission Process
Entrance exams are conducted to facilitate nursing admission process. These exams are conducted once each year. A merit list is prepared after evaluating candidates’ performance in relevant entrance exam. Based on the merit list, seats are distributed among deserving candidates.
