Government Colleges are funded and managed by the State Government (Government of Gujarat). These colleges provide subsidized education to its students. This is the main reason why students prefer Government Colleges over Self Financed institutes. Self Financed Colleges, on the other hand, are managed and funded by private trusts, boards and organizations. They charge relatively higher tuition fees than their Private sector counterparts. Most of the Home Science Colleges present in Gujarat are Arts colleges. These colleges usually offer the following home science courses – BA in Home Science and B.Sc. in Home Science. 12th pass students are eligible to pursue these courses.
